THE PRINCE RECAPS THE KINGS DEMISE
On a better note, I will never forget the lovely wrestling trips where his wrestling team invaded the mats and kicked ass throughout all the villages in all the lands. The King, even though missing a finger & a negligently repaired arm, still could swing a stick at a ball, catch the most difficult to spot fish, hunt the woods for the best meat, swim the waters like dolphin, & fix the machinery nobody else wanted to fix. But his best trait was coach the locals to become the best they could be in all the sports in the land. King Holmes definitely had his moments as the greatest man on this side of the land, which showed when his funeral turnout was over 600 people including other provinces leaders & the enemies he made during his life as The King coach he was. It was no secret that His only son, The Prince & his family loved & idolized him even though he had a other side & it was the one he couldn’t beat. The Prince spent 23 years learning the good & bad from his father The King, but also carried deep pain knowing he still should of had 30 more good years left in him. Prince Holmes will never forgive himself for not being there that tragic day that the greatest Man he ever knew passed away! Here’s a brief glimpse of Lloyd Holmes from his heart & his words.
The King of Fools
You see there was once a man who just wanted everything for everyone. He really did lead a charmed life. For years a lot of wonderful things for The Kings family. He wanted desperately to be the best person in the world. He was lucky enough to get married to a great and loving woman. They would have 4 beautiful children, 3 girls and 1 boy. On the outside the family looked wonderful & seemingly to locals King Holmes had it all, and he truly was blessed by god. His house with a small sized lake and 3acre yard was welcome for everyone who wanted to come over to share some fun on The Kings land. The house was where all were welcome to have a cookout, swim the water and try to catch the big fish Arthur Gary named Mamba. The King truly seemed blessed. During the winters he was a wrestling coach, where he trained not just wrestlers but boys & even girls, whom most would later grow into great men & women with families of their own.
He inspired the poor, competed against the rich, and became a idolized figure to many in his little town. He took his leadership & responsibility serious, even at times hurting his own family just to help out another, but just as all fairy tales go, there was a dark-side.
The Darkside
You see not only did Humpty Dumpty fall off the wall, so did the King. The King, despite what people saw on the outside, had many failures. He ran two ventures & lands into exile, leading into a family war. Reasonable people understand his real personal demons. every time when things got rough and tight he would turn to the what was his eventual downfall of liquor mixed with opiates. He was sinking his family into losing another land, with his failed business ventures by selfishly easing his pain, then trying to hide it until he soon drowned himself into the real devils hole. The addiction masked his thoughts making him feel better about himself. That feeling even caused the man to turn to another vice, other woman.
The Failure after Failure, matched with the addictions started his path of wreckage & demise. Eventually this would cause his mind to lose sight of reality.
The last Fallout
The King had success at times, but ultimately he felt he was unknowingly hurting the people who loved him most. One tragic Day was when a boy he coached had died early into adulthood. The King felt that the boy had chosen the kings path of drugs & alcohol, until he finally felt the pain inside that he was possibly a failure. The King didn't realize that yes, one man died, but there were over 100s saved by his unselfish giving and unmatched coaching ability. The death of the boy, now man, hit hard. The King had helped so many people but now couldn’t seem to remember those ones, as all he could see was the death of his villages once prized pupil. The King was losing sight of his life’s efforts & holding the tragedy deep in his heart till his Day of Passing on September 21.
The king wrote this story in hopes that someone else might read it and understand. The King Hopes and prays in eternity, that anyone reading this will not end up like the King of Fools and instead follow the man in the mirror for he is the real King! (RIP Lloyd Holmes)
P.S. The King would want everyone to know He gave his life, his soul, to the one man he believed to be true and that was our father JESUS CHRIST.
**The Story you just read, is fiction, but the probability of you losing yourself in the deep grief over the loss of someone is real. When The Prince lost his best friend in his Dad, he in a sense lost his own soul. He turned too turned to drugs & alcohol. His journey through the Woods searching a impossible to locate creature he tries to finally come to the grips of his own life and his diminished sense of reality. The next part of this blog will be that search that showed Prince, if nothing else that we are all human and are all a work in progress. Prince still suffers, but now has a better understanding of his life and maybe not always a clear mind, but like the quote says “Rome wasn’t built in one day.” A good start is toKeep up with your priorities in life and good things might come. If they don’t atleast you are free to enjoy your ride on this planet we call earth!!
